《意外》主要讲述的是古天乐饰演的大脑，他非常善于策划暗杀，每次都是天衣无缝，是一名职业暗杀者，每次遇害者看上去死于非命，但却是暗杀组成员策划的，因策划了太多的这种意外，大脑常常梦见自己死于意外之中，为此他每次都特别的谨慎，但一次任务，他的一名队友因交通事故死亡了，他不知道到底是意外还是别人冲着他来的，但大脑锁定了一名可疑的人物，任贤齐饰演的陈芳洲，一名保险经纪人，他怀疑陈芳洲是比他更厉害的意外制造者，于是他准备要对陈芳洲下手，那这场事故到底是意外还是认为呢？
