秦风收到唐仁的消息，来到纽约参加自己和阿香的婚礼。唐仁在机场十分豪气的接待了秦风，十分招摇。等秦风来到“婚礼现场”才知道自己是被唐仁骗来参加有五百万奖金的世界名侦探大赛，大赛的内容是找出杀死唐人街教父七叔孙子的凶手。秦风知道自己被骗了，生气的要离开现场，但是去呗华人刑警陈英吸引，加上唐仁的苦苦哀求，秦风决定留下来看情况。经过介绍，他们知道七叔的孙子死法十分离奇，并且为了寻找凶手设下了高额悬赏。他们在调查的同事发生了另一个案件，作案的手法相似，但是原本被锁定的凶手却有不在场证明，让秦风也摸不到头脑。紧接着第三起第四起案件也逐渐出现，秦风抓住真凶后，才知道这个完美结案的背后其实隐藏另一个谜题
