该电影讲述了解放军在征战土匪坐山雕的故事，在本片当中的解放军是一只骁勇善战的203小分队在东北执行着剿匪计划，在当时遇到了盘踞多年的土匪座山雕，并且和其产生了斗智斗勇的故事，当中的主角杨子荣可以说是生动形象，以自己的一人之力前往威虎山，通过各种暗号和细节得以潜入到了威虎山内部，并且和外边的解放军达成一致，在做山雕生日的这一天，当时的警卫非常的松懈，正是由于这一天的原因，最终双方展开了剿匪计划，在最终也是成功的将座山雕脚害将东北持枪抢劫百姓，伤害无辜村民的座山雕给除掉，恢复了当时的和平与安详本篇的剧情是非常的热血，由张翰宇所扮演的杨子荣也是生动形象，阐述了解放军不畏生死，只为人民的英勇故事
