岁月神偷

"The Thief of Time" is a feature film directed by Luo Qirui, co-produced by American Asian Films, Tianxia Films and Land Times Culture. The film tells the story of an ordinary family in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong for ten years from 1967 to 1977. The family consists of shoemaker Luo's family of four, living in an era full of changes and turbulence. At that time, Hong Kong was facing the suppression of the British Hong Kong government, the spread of the mainland movement, and the continuous landfall of typhoons, and the time-honored Wing Lee Street was at the center of the storm.

Mr. Luo is a shoemaker. Although he made good shoes, he could barely make ends meet in that chaotic era. Mrs. Luo is a pungent and straightforward person, known as "Sister-in-law Luo". The family has two sons, the eldest, who is 16 years old, is doing well and is much admired in the family and the community. The youngest son is only 8 years old. Because of being doted on by his parents, he is mischievous and often causes troubles for his family. Although the family lives in poverty, they are still able to support each other and lead a happy life.
However, the pure love between the eldest son and the wealthy daughter Fang Fei, a violent storm sweeping Hong Kong, and a long-buried nightmare caused the life of this ordinary family to collapse instantly, falling into fragmentation and anxiety. In this process full of ups and downs in life, the Luo family felt the true meaning of the vagaries of time, and also understood the "thief-like" changes that the years brought to them.
