"A Wonderful World" is a crime film adapted from Sagi Takazo's novel "Status Ledger". The story mainly tells the story of the protagonist, Masao Mikami, who, after spending most of his life in prison, tried hard to reform himself but encountered various setbacks.

Masao Mikami (played by Koji Yakusho) was a gang member, Sentenced to prison for homicide and spent 13 years in prison. After his release, he was determined to integrate into society and welcome a better new life.
