动画《机动奥特曼》的第二季续集由Production I.G和SOLA DIGITAL ARTS共同制作，神山健治和荒牧伸志担任导演，于2022年4月14日首播。该作品于中国大陆地区由上海新创华文化发展有限公司授权引进，并于4月15日上线视频平台。

在这一季中，世界上发生了大规模地球人消失事件，主人公进次郎和玲奈也不幸消失，被传送到了位于卫星轨道的外星人飞船上。与此同时，自由记者光太郎因调查“消失事件”真相而遭遇悲剧，但幸运的是，他得到了神秘力量的复活，并变身为超人。
