本片上映于1981年，是一部历史战争片。导演沃尔夫冈·彼德森，主演尤尔根·普洛斯诺、赫贝特·格勒内梅厄、拉尔夫·瑞克特。故事发生在第二次世界大战期间，德国的科学家发明了一艘神奇的潜艇叫做海军U-96号潜艇，这艘潜艇来无影去无踪，在海战中立下赫赫战功。在一次任务中，这艘潜艇被派去阻扰英国船只的运输补给工作。然而这艘潜艇在战斗中并不能发挥多大的作用，所以在完成任务后，他们的潜艇也受到了不少的损伤。就在他们即将准备返回德国的时候，德国军方再次发出命令，要求他们穿越直布罗陀海峡去到下一个任务点。直布罗陀海峡分布着更多的英国舰队，潜艇对他们来说就是一只可以随时被捏死的蚂蚁。英国舰队的存在始终威胁着他们的生命，这一次他们又该如何化险为夷
